OURC Varsities

The fullbore rifle competitions against Cambridge are some of the longest running ‘Varsity’ matches between the two universities, with the Humphry (long range/match rifle) dating back to 1861, and the Chancellors’ (target rifle) to 1862. In smallbore, we compete against Cambridge with mixed teams of 8 in the Heslop (first VIII) and the Kensington (second VIII), and often in a thirds’ match as well, and with a women’s team of 4 in the Bentata, the newest of our Varsity competitions.
